Women and the Equal Pay Act of 1963:
The equal pay act was enacted in 1963, mainly as a labour law which came into existence amending the Fair labour standards act. This act was aimed at removing the difference in wage between men and women at the workplace. This law prohibited sex discrimination by employers. The Act made it illegal to pay men and women working in the same place different salaries for similar work.
