Purpose of the assignment:
The purpose of this assignment is to exercise and develop skills required to analyse and design networks to address the need of clients. In this assessment, students will be able to  Understand the basic concepts and principles of technology relating to electronic data communications and computer networking  Demonstrate a basic understanding of terminology of network communications technology, network operating systems and network applications  Articulate the difference between different types of network configurations and indicate the situations in which various options are best/most appropriate  Understand and explain different role of networking and network operating systems for information systems  Appreciate the need for different types of networks
Assignment requirements: All questions from all three scenarios must be addressed.
Scenario 1: has 250 networked computers and five servers and uses a star topology wired network to reach employees’ offices, with a bus interconnecting three floors in its office building. Because of a staggering influx of Internet business, the network administrator’s task is to boost network performance and availability as much as possible. The company also wants a network design that’s easy to reconfigure and change because workgroups form and disband frequently, and their membership changes regularly. All computers must share sensitive data and control access to customer files and databases. Aside from the customer information and billing databases, which run on all servers, employees’ desktop computers must run standard word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
Please address the following questions: 1. What type of topology should be used in this network? Why? (2 marks) 2. Will the network be peer to peer or server based? Please justify your answers. Assignment One
In this paper we work on network assignment for three scenarios. We analysis the case study requirement, provides best network solution as per our best knowledge. In this paper we study the network topology. As per analysis we understand about the which topology is the best .In this case study as we suggest about star topology. We study the network masking and how we analysis and provided the answer as per standards of network subnet masking and network address for given cases study. We discuss about the star topology. Ebiz has star network topology. we also define what kind of switches is required.
1. has already available star network topology. We use the star topology in an existing building of three floors. Star topology is a good selection on star network. The physical star network is a painless transfer, but if wire require to be upgrade or replaced ,it be a good time . it’s very effective in that condition where multiple floors with office building, if each floor have own local switches then we can connect central point through the fiber optics. We use star network and consider the 250 computers + 5 servers for a total of 255 devices, we can extend the theoretical network limit. We use each floor into its own Lan. In the future we will expand the network, where would be need of the system. The system will be best worked in that condition where is server based system. The system speed will be high and certain. This is a very easiest way to access of reconfiguration.

2. We redesign the network, it is extend across 3 floors. We applied the star network in extend way. We use the Internet connection. it is a internet business . We use the fiber or copper lines because its working fast. We use the Cisco router to help them determine traffic flow. The main things is routers, we can easily reconfigured if it request by client. we would use the smart switch on each floor. They would be connected with each device for fastest solution.
3. We will install the gigabyte switch because every type of computer is able to gigabit NIC card. We install the server in the second floor so the server will be encrypted and store.
4. We can change the membership easily. The window server network is used for directory configured. We know about the Ruckus wireless but the access point Cisco is very secure and effective. What the client select either wifi or Ethernet to connect the network. The wifi is very secure and authenticates with AD .The wireless worked with firewall.
5. The network work is very fast and secure for client. it does not matter how many computer connect the network. It depend on switches and computer ,the network should be scalable
