Chosen Topic: Discrimination in the Workplace
    Workplace culture can be considered as a positive experience that makes the employee associate with the organisation. However, when employees are distinguished from one another based on parameters, which are not related to their workplace job performance, then that is considered as workplace discrimination. As mentioned by Mu
ay (2018), this is a serious concern prevailing in the organisations, because the employees are not treated unbiasedly and they are discriminated in such a way that they are encroached of their opportunities to excel in work. The grounds, which are considered when discriminating between employees are the colour of their complexion, race, cultural background, language, nationality, age, gender, presence of disability and religion.
    However, as argued by Sipe, Larson, Mckay and Moss (2016), these instances of discrimination harm the employment of the employee to such an extent that they are not only isolated from their colleagues, but also lose the opportunities of promotion. In fact, sometimes, the human resource department judges the qualities and skills of the aspirant based on these parameters, to such an extent that they are not selected for the aspiring designation. As supported by Verniers and Vala (2018), the termination of the employment can also be a result of the workplace discrimination. Therefore, it can be viewed that if the sole earning of the employee’s family is based on their cu
ent employment, then due to being terminated on the grounds of workplace discrimination can lead to termination of living for the entire family.
    Hence, it is a matter of fact that for the social and communal well-being of the entity, workplace discrimination is a major challenge to be mitigated.
