Introduction
Nursing is noble profession and the term registered nurse is used for the newly graduated nursing student, if they meet the requirements outlined by the state, province and country. It would be essential to consider that the scope of practice for a registered nurse is determined by the legislation or by the regulatory body or authority. However, nursing as a profession possess a different perspective and this persuasive essay will focus on the professional values of a registered nurse through the eyes of newly graduated students. Likewise, efforts will be made to present and link the professional values with personal values of the students through a moral, theoretical and practical stance.
Nursing and Professional Identity Development
Nursing is a profession rooted within the aspects of ethical values, moral, theoretical as well as, performance. It would be essential, to consider that the core values of nursing include autonomy, integrity, human dignity, honesty, altruism and social justice. Ethical code is one of the major aspects where nursing profession practices are clarified and demonstrated. Quality of professional care and professional norms, both are required in equili

Tan, Van der Molen and Schmidt (2017) presented that awareness of professional nursing values among nursing students as well as their educators is essential in order to provide patient care in professional and ethical manner. However, development of professional identity while being a nursing student would be highly dependent upon the perspectives and visualisation of good nursing practices. Professional values and identities are taught to the students by their teachers. Therefore, it would be essential to consider that significant consequences of professional value and ethical teachings are provided initially through the school teachings and the process of socialising.
Poorchangizi, Borhani, A
aszadeh, Mirzaee and Farokhzadian (2019) suggested that education is one of the major reasons behind the differentiation in the professional values formation. In other words, nursing educators might have significant impact or influence on stimulation of professional values among these nursing students. Likewise, when it comes to developing professional identity among nursing students, educators as well as, professors, both at each stage of education and clinical setting have to perform the role of facilitator.
Further, nursing education allows students to socialise with actual patients within real life clinical settings through workshops and trainings. Accordingly, it would be essential to consider that students might increase their commitment towards identification of professional values directly wither through role playing or indirectly through observing the behaviours of other healthcare professionals within the clinical settings. Nursing educators are one of the major role models in front of nursing students because of their clinical skills, professional commitment and responsibility, ownership of the profession, kindness, honesty and flexibility (Maginnis, 2018).
Therefore, nursing students could also learn critical thinking as well as, decision-making...
