Formative Assessment

Students will deliver a 3-minute presentation in front of their peers on which they will receive written feedback on both their contents and presentation skills.

Summative Assessment

Students are required to deliver a 15-minute presentation using power point followed by 5 mins questions and answer. Topic areas will be selected from the module content and will be outlined in the module guidance. Students will need to use contemporary literature to support the contents of their presentation.

Format

Presentation to be submitted on moodle as one power point file. References to be on the final slide.

Draft submission

1. You may submit an outline of your topic to be covered including aims and objectives

2. You may not submit draft material within two weeks of the final submission date. The final date for submission of draft is the 2^nd December

3. Staff will not give any indication of expected mark or outcome.

Guidance for content of assignment

The presentation will take place under exam conditions and will be in front of two lecturers.

· You will be assessed on both content and presentation skills using the attached level 6 rubric

· The presentation needs to be supported by contemporary literature

· Students will be required to answer questions on their presentation topic. These will be asked by the assessors

· Students can use prompt cards during their presentation

Topics

Students need to choose a topic which reflects the learning outcomes and contents of the module. Particular attention is drawn to the following learning outcomes: -

• Critically review key roles and XXXXXXXXXXorganisational values within health and social care

Examples of possible topics are below but students are at liberty to choose their own: -

1. What did you learn from your university experience and why?

2. Why is diversity important in the public sector workplace and how would you manage discrimination?

3. What has been your greatest achievement and why?

4. What skills do you have that will make you a good manager?

5. How do you manage organisational change and would lead others in doing so?

6. The role of women in leadership?

7. How has social media impacted on the public’s perception of safeguarding services and how would you change it.

8. How would you improve wellbeing in the workplace?

Students are encouraged to have a reflective element to their presentation and to present creative solutions to issues.
