This assignment is about building a news scraper. What it would do is that user would define certain criteria (ticker, and/or company name, date range, etc.) and return news information back (title, url, date, author, full article body text, etc). There should be open source packages on the news part, please do a bit research online. All the parameters I mentioned above, you can fine tune them using your own interpretation. You can do financial news on websites such as wsj, cnbc, bloomberg, yahoo finance and etc.
Your job:
There is a python and JSON file uploaded that most of the work are done already. What you need to do is go over codes
eak that one big cell down to several per each function. I’d like to see output runs for each and share feedback. And for each function, please include sample runs. Say the first one is configparse and it's to parse a passed JSON file. In the cell of that function, under the docstring part, write a bit documentation about how the JSON file should be expected (what are the columns, datatype, etc.), and then pass a sample JSON file, run the function and show the output. Please submit in HTML file for review where both codes and outputs are shown step by step. Feel free to modify the codes, please do this in a Jupyter Notebook if you can.
