The horizontal fragmentation can be defined as dividing the relations of rows into multiple fragments or subsets. Each of the fragment is stored at different node and have a unique room. The unique rose has the same column value. Each segment or subset is similar to the select statement in which where clause is applied on a single attribute.
Vertical fragmentation
The vertical fragmentation allows us to group together columns of the table into the form of fragments. Each fragment will have a primary key column with it which helps to maintain the reconstructiveness of the table. The vertical fragmentation is mainly used to keep the data private.
