1. a. The court system in the United States is the judicial branch which applies the laws and 
solves the pending cases. It is managed both under the federal as well as the state level. These 
two types are more or less working side by side but at times they overlap each other in the 
decision making process. The alternative dispute resolution method is indeed a form of 
arbitration by the disagreeing parties and making an out of court settlement. The advantages 
of US court system are:-  
1. When the decisions are taken by the attorney it will be a neutral decision taking into 
account the interest of both the parties. 
2. The court has the legal expertise to judge a case independently without coming under any 
influence. 
3. In the court system, the attorney can refer back to previous cases of similar nature. 
The disadvantages of the court system are:- 
1. The speed of decision making in a court system is quite slow  compared to alternative 
dispute resolution method. 
2. The decision making in a court room is very expensive. 
3. Some cases solved by arbitration mode helps the court by not burdening it with lots of 
cases. 
1. b. The dispute resolution methods are very helpful to the small business owner as well as 
the mid level manager of a Fortune 500 company as the cases solved by mode of arbitration 
saves both time and money for these individuals. The court takes its own time in making a 
decision while mutual settlement is the fastest mode of settlement. The alternative resolution

methods help parties to remain in good terms with one another even after a decision making 
is completely done. 
1. c. The seventh amendment has the biggest influence on the businesses. This act gives the 
right to the accused person to have a trial by the jury in the civil cases and also provides a 
guarantee that the jury’s cannot be reexamined later.
