LO2 Knowledge and Understanding Critically analyse the factors contributing to health inequalities
LO3 Intellectual, practical, affective and transferrable skills Applying comparative research methodology
LO4 Intellectual, practical, affective and transferrable skills Recommend strategies for reducing health inequalities
CONTEXT
A healthcare system is a complex, dynamic network of organisations and agents working collaboratively for the health and wellbeing of a region. However, different healthcare systems maybe take different approaches in the way in which they operate.
A study of different healthcare systems forms the basis for understanding factors which contribute to healthcare outcomes and in so doing, students will be able to identify ways of implementing best practice(s).
During the study of this module, students explore, compare and contrast different healthcare systems and their methodologies.

Task 1- Individual PowerPoint Slides on Local Healthcare System
The World Health Organisation XXXXXXXXXXacknowledges that optimal healthcare cannot be delivered simply by ensuring the existence of infrastructure, medical supplies and healthcare providers. The improvement of health service delivery requires a deliberate focus on quality of health services. Improved quality encourages better healthcare outcomes and allows strategies to be built into place for local, national and international healthcare systems. Sharing of the lessons learnt and implementation of changes improves patient health outcomes.
The Board of Directors at Barts Health NHS Trust have asked you to provide PowerPoint slides to illustrate examples of poor service delivery affecting health inequalities and make recommendations to reduce these health inequalities at Barts Health NHS Trust. The Board of Directors will use your analysis to make changes to how health services are delivered at Barts Health NHS Trust. (25 Marks)
1. These slides should be a critical analysis of Barts Health NHS Trust.
2. Students MUST - • provide a maximum of 10 PowerPoint slides in total (excluding the reference list slide)
• identify 2 (two) issues from the characteristics of service delivery.
• Slides should include - ➢ Title slide ➢ Main slides ➢ Conclusion slide ➢ Recommendations slide ➢ Reference list slide
3. Students should make recommendations to reduce health inequalities for the benefit of the patients at Barts Health NHS Trust.
4. Students can also provide additional explanations of no more than 50 words in the notes section of each slide.
