Abstract
The following report provides the in-depth knowledge of the mechanism of the inter-professional collaboration. To understand the mechanism, shadowing research had been conducted in the residential home where staff of the setting had shown strong inter-professional collaboration. Residential home is the place where mostly old people take the refuge. These people were given assistance from care providers in completing their daily routine. The effective functioning of the residential home is possible only through join efforts of all the professionals working in the setting. The shadowing was conducted on residential home for 15 hours.
The method used for the conduction of shadowing research is by observing, discussing and through analysing scenario. After conduction of shadowing research, three main issues were highlighted in the observation. These issues are poor management, lack of strong communication skill among staff members, and shortage of staff. On discussion with staff members, it has been highlighted that shortage of staff make the existing staff tired, which prevent them from providing high-quality care to the residents. It has been observed that interprofessional collaboration is successful in providing good care to the service users at reduced rate.
It also allows increasing the knowledge pool of collaborating teams. It reduces the medical e
ors and provide chance for health professionals to fulfil the diverse need of service users. The personal agenda behind the conduction of shadowing research is to understand the inter-professional working and the way it is successful in practice. This personalisation agenda has been successfully met while conducting shadowing at residential home. There are some gaps in inter-professional collaboration, which prevent in providing high-quality care to the service seeker. These are ba
iers such as lack of trust and respect to other professionals. In case of residential home, I had observed that the team had displayed strong teamwork, and patience to handle the tough situation.

Introduction
The following report is a shadowing experience on inter-professional working. Interprofessional working is important aspect of the healthcare industry. It provides the professionals the in-depth knowledge of their fellow disciplines, hardships and roles performed by them. This report provides the information of shadowing experience, which I have gone through while working in the residential home. It critically observes the scenario of the place identifies the scope of improvement and provide the necessary recommendations, which can improve the working of the professional over there so that high quality care can be provided to the service users.
The observation I have come will be compare with the available literature to give the proper understanding of the working of the residential home and its impact on the health of the people taking services there. As suggested by Monahan et al. (2018), shadowing allows the person to the functioning of the place or individual. It provides the large set of data on action, moods, working, and interdependence of the individual. It allows to critically analysing the action and reaction of the individual in specific situation.
I wanted to use this shadowing opportunity provided to me to understand the role of the role of the working of staff in residential home. I wanted to understand their job and way they handle the situation so that when I get the opportunity to operate in the same functional domain, I can be capable of handling it. It also allows me to identify the issues, which are existing in the care setting so that I can learn the ways to solve the issues, which can help in providing high quality care to the service users. As suggested by Olsen et al. (2015), the priority of all the healthcare professionals is to provide the high-quality person-centred care to the service users. Healthcare organisation work tirelessly to find the innovative ways to provide good service to the users.
This report provides the information, which is obtained through observation. It has been under the influence of the observer’s perception. The data obtained is limited as limited time is given for the conduction of the research, thus, further research needs to be done in selected domain. The enquiry is conducted simply by observing the situation and then, through discussion with fellow colleagues about few persistent issues to understand the impact of issues on them and the service provided to the service user.
The interprofessional working area selected is residential home. As suggested by Soderqvist, Sjoblom, and Bulow (2016), residential homes can be defined as the care homes where assistance is provided to the service users by professional care providers like nurses. These homes can be of many types. It aids in completing their daily routine, which includes providing medicines on time and listening to their needs.
As noted by Shafran, Richardson, and Bonta (2015), interprofessional shadowing allows the person to gain the knowledge of the job and behaviour towards other professionals. It increases the team trust and give chance of easy collaboration for providing improved care to the service users. It also helps in improving communication skills.
Methodology
The method selected for this report is shadowing which is conducted in residential home. I had done 15 hours shift in total. Every week, I spend 3 hours in a residential home as part of my shift. I did not focus on one individual to understand the mechanism of the working of the residential home. I wanted to understand the role of every individual working over there to understand the collaboration between professionals and its impact on the service given to the users. I also wanted to understand that how function of residential home can be hindered if any of the professional does not perform well or absent from its duty.
I had observed lot of people from multi-professionals to understand the issues present in the care setting. I have obtained the information using three...
