In community/public health nursing (C/PHN), care is provided to the patients and service users within their respective homes or in their community only. Hence, the scenario of care provision is more friendly, comforting and familiar for the service users than it is in case of in-patient hospital care (Karacsony). Therefore, if the community/public health nurses (C/PHNs) do not possess a family perspective, they would not be able to provide such a compassionate to them, which is why it is implemented.
In order to assess the individuals, family members and sub-systems involved in the care within the community, assessment methods such as self-reporting, diagrammatic method and observations are used. Techniques and tools under these include skills audit, interview, survey, genogram, role play and feedback forms (Mulcahy et al.).
A family, having experiences a stressful or emotionally tumultuous crisis, can be brought back from their trauma by involving them in the common good of the society.
