Paul of Tarsus: Read the introduction to Pauline Literature in your Anselm Bible: pp. 1821 to 1827.
Then, choose one of Paul's letters from your Bible and read its introduction. Please keep the principles of interpretation from the Mueller text in mind while you do so.
If you were to introduce Paul's work andthis letter to a student or colleague, what would you say/write? How would you characterize the importance of Paul in his context and in the location where the letter was written, and in what ways is this letter of importance? In other words, think about Author, Audience, Opponents, and Occasion.
What else of interest did you learn with regard to Paul's teaching that helps you to understand the Christian viewpoint on an issue or issues. Did you find yourself disagreeing with him? Why, or how?
The above are all ideas to get you thinking about the possibilities regarding your analysis of his letter. Do not overly fret about getting everything absolutely right. Use the principles and the introductions to talk about the letter.
