    PART-1
1. Diuretics are the most commonly used drugs for treatment of hypertension. They act by preventing the reabsorption of sodium by nephrons, and by increasing the amount of sodium and water in urine. Hence, more sodium and water can be excreted by the passage of urine (Brater).
2. Sodium is a major positively charged electrolyte present outside the cell. It plays active role in maintaining the blood pressure, transmission of nerve impulse, and muscular contraction. Potassium is a major positively charged electrolyte found in the intracellular fluid. It also maintains the acid-base balance in body and regulates muscular contraction (Nave).
3. True. The heart of athletes gets bigger in size than the normal person due to consistent overload of pumping out extra blood (University of Cam
idge).
4. Potassium is an electrolyte which facilitates conduction of nerve impulse, and regulation of heart functioning (Chandler). It also maintains the fluid balance between the body and the cells. Potassium along with sodium transmits the signals essential for heart functioning, transmit the conduction of impulse along the nerves and the contraction of muscles. Low sodium level may harness all these activities, reduce the transmission of signal and electric impulse along the potential gradient thus impeding the smooth functioning of heart (Campbell).
5. Iron deficiency anemia which results from the deficiency of RBCs.
6. Fluorosis is a common dental problem caused by excessive...
