Part A. Your primary response (Due date: Monday June 13 at 11:59 PM)

The topic of this week is Probability theory. For this week discussion, find a group of minimum 20 volunteers and ask them two questions, for example:

Of the following 5 restaurants, which restaurant is your favorite?

How many hours do you expend watching TV everyday?

You can include classmates, friends, or family in your project.

Do not use the questions I used as examples.

Using your imagination, ask two questions to your volunteers. Then complete your Discussion assignment. Use the titles on bold below to organize your answers.

1.Survey.Write the questions exactly as you asked to your subjects.

2.Table Presentation.Present the data using a contingency table similar to the table on last class:

You can use excel to prepare your table.

3.Sampling method.Describe your sampling method. Clearly explain if you used phone calls, text messages, direct questioning, etc.

4.Observations.Make observations of your results. Remember that the topic is probability, describe your data in terms of probability, practice statistical language. For example, If your table contains data in car brands and colors (imagine the table), you could describe the probability of people preferring Red Toyota carsP(Red Toyota), orP(blue), orP(Ford), etc.
