REPORT ON - OLA RIDE(TECHNICAL ASPECTS)
Organization Background
OLA (Ola Cabs) is an international ride-sharing company headquartered in Bangalore, India. There are other businesses also in which the company operates include a used-car marketplace, cloud kitchens, and financial services. Food delivery and automobile rental are among the services offered by OLA. It was founded in 2010 by Ankit Bhati and Bhavish Aggarwal. The whole objective of Ola Cabs' is to serve Indians with safe, convenient, and technologically advanced automobile rental services. Ola has a smartphone app that connects customers with drivers and delivers a reliable mobility option. More than 250 cities in Australia, India, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand are served by Ola taxis.
Why Choose OLA Cabs ?.
Ola Cabs was my first choice because it employs a digital business approach to provide taxi services to customers. It also offers a wide range of services, from luxurious to budget-friendly. The company allowed people to book Taxis either by using their company website or mobile application. Ola began as a Taxi Rental Fleet company before expanding into the bigger marketing elements of a ride-hailing company (Ola Cabs, 2022). I chose the company because it employs technology in its various divisions, including ride hailing, Ola financial services, Ola meals, Ola automobiles, and Ola dash.
Environmental Scanning
PESTEL Analysis is the study of the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal variables that can affect a firm in any way possible. PESTEL study aids a firm in analyzing macro environmental elements that influence the entire business environment.
Ola Cabs, India's first taxicab aggregation company, was dealing with a number of concerns that were causing major challenges to the organization. Due to an incident involving violence and sex assault against a female passenger at the time, the Indian government
iefly prohibited taxis in India. As a result, new restrictions were implemented by the government to ensure the protection of all customers. All cab aggregators must obtain a license under the radio taxi category under the new regulations that have been passed. This was a significant issue for OLA Cabs, which is essentially a technical platform that connects clients with cab owners. Because OLA Cabs was growing at a rapid speed and had already set some aggressive revenue and expansion targets, this situation needed to be rectified as soon as possible. The company was developing at a pace of 40% per month and had over 50,000 cabs in its network, which was distributed across 28 cities.
We are not going to elaborate how the above specified situation got resolved but we just wanted to provide a glimpse of how these various Economical, Political, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental factors impact the business of a particular organization. Thus PESTEL analysis is a must for organizations who want to have a strong foot in a competitive market.
Let’s have a look at those factors that can affect the business...
