Part 1: Pedigree Construction
You must develop a pedigree of at least 3 generations to assess your personal family history information using the website https://familyhistory.invitae.com/. If this link does not work in Internet Explorer, use Firefox or a different browser. If you are unable to complete the pedigree using your own family, you may interview someone else. When you use this software, the pedigree will be generated. When it asks for the patient’s name, make sure you only enter initials for all people in the pedigree. To begin, you will need to create an account and follow the instructions and tutorial. When you need to save the pedigree, the options to do so are located in the upper right-hand side of the screen under “Actions.” Do not save it in black and white and make sure the legend is on the pedigree diagram (these options are given to you when you download it). You must include the cause of death and information collected about common diseases and age of diagnosis for at least 80% of the family members in the pedigree. Indicate unable to assess (UTA) as appropriate. Individuals with traits of interest must be clearly diagramed in the pedigree. Conditions must be in color.
