A. Given that length of 4 boxes on the map represents 2 cm.
Shipley and Boatwick are separated by 8 boxes that is, 4 cm on the map.
Given, each cm on map co
esponds to 6 miles in reality.
Hence Shipley and boatwick are separated by 12 miles.
B. Scale on map = 1:100
1 cm 1 cm*100=100 cm 1 m
2.5 cm 2.5 cm *100=250 cm 2.5 m
0.8 cm 0.8 cm *100 =80 cm 0.8 m
4.1 cm 4.1 cm*100=410 cm 4.1 m
C. Scale on map = 1:250000
On map (cm) Conversion value Real value (KM)
1 250000 250
10 2500000 2500
4.6 1150000 1150
0.2 50000 50
D. Scale on map = 1: 5000000
Real (KM) Conversion value On map (mm)
50 50/5000000 10
5 5/5000000 1
100 100/5000000 20
60 60/5000000 12
E.

Scale= 1:50
Width on map =10 mm
Actual width = 500 mm = 0.5 m
Length on map = 20 mm
Actual length = 1000 mm = 1m
ii. Scale = 2cm/400 m=1:20000
C) Graphs
i. y=x+2

ii. Y=2-x

iii. y=2x-1

iv. 3y=x

v. y+x=-2

D)
i. y=x+3: y=3x-1
Solution: (2, 5)
ii. x+y=1; 3y=x+11
Solution : (-2,3)
iii. y=2x+3; y=x-1
Solution: (-4, -5)
iv. y=2x-2; 2y=x+8
Solution: (4, 6)
