Introduction
In this reflection, the details of workplace stress and pressure will be notified to understand how it affects the health of a registered nurse. In the reflection, the personal opinion of a registered nurse will be analyzed to understand how the person needs to understand the situation to work effectively and what can be the possible strategies to minimize the pressure. From the overall evaluation, it is necessary to understand the details of the psyche of the nurse and analyze it for a better understanding of the possible strategies that can be applied for the betterment of the situation. Therefore, the analysis will help to understand the transition of a registered nurse from its previous to a more stable state.
Personal and professional Self-reflection
Being a registered nurse there are a lot of stress and anxiety issues that I have to face in the workplace especially while working with patients of critical condition. At times there are some critical situations where the nurses have to take a lot of responsibilities in turn of preparing the patient for the upcoming operation and challenges for taking care of the patient for its final moment before a critical surgery. Even in terms of emergency cases, where an accident occurs or a pregnant woman a
ives, challenges can be faced by registered nurses even after years of practice. Therefore, it can be said that the presence of workplace stress is quite evident among most registered nurses and it can create some negative impact on the overall health and well-being of the nurses and the safety of the patients. Like some of the newly licensed registered nurses, I can say that the transition from the trainee level to the hospital environment can be quite difficult. There are lots of difficulties in the real Hospital environment and the risks are higher in terms of complex settings and multiple sources of information that the nurses have together in terms of maintaining proper balance in the hospital environment.
Registered nurses have to work on certain aspects and it is an advanced stage of experience that can help maintain certain duties in the hospital. The translation of the registered nurses can be quite stressful for the individuals who have graduated recently and their clinical competence is judged to understand the role that they would play in the future career in the workplace. There are certain aspects that are quite challenging for causing stress the registered nurses and I have personally felt the work overload and night shift duties to be quite overwhelming for me to perform in a stable manner to the patients. After a night shift, I have experienced exhaustion and nausea that have affected my work and it has led to criticism in my work for the entire week. This kind of work stress can be quite severe for the career of the nurse and it husband quite difficult for me to run understand the duties and their severity.
I have also faced the complexity to handle certain critical patients especially those who are quite old and those who have been a victim of an accident. This type of patient is quite hard to handle and that is why I require the extra support of my other colleagues to manage the patients effectively. This kind of situation requires the support of the supervisors which I have received recently and I need to work more on the complexity of the patients to handle them in the future. I have also noticed the shortage of technological advancements and equipment in the hospital which has made me utilize some of the traditional methods of taking care of the patients. This has become quite effective for me to work with certain patients and it has been quite difficult for me to understand the nature of action that I need to take remotely to manage the situation effectively.
Evaluation
From the overall point of view, it has been understood that there are certain challenges that the nurses have to face in terms of joining an organization where they have to work with challenging patients and...
