Introduction
Healthcare models for rural remote Australian population have confronted various challenges over the course of time. Managing healthcare issues through community participation and awareness is one of such factors. In fact, the accessibility of Indigenous communities living in remote regions towards healthcare alternatives is still one of the major issues for healthcare professionals (Canuto et al., 2021).
At the same time, bad habitual impressions such as smoking and drinking increase the risks of various diseases to trap the youth of indigenous people. The following is the analysis of the key contexts and issues related to smoking, as presented in the case study scenario one of Roy, the 19 year old young person who advocates for ‘not quitting smoking’ in the name of his indigenous convention.
Identification of Resources
At first, it is significant to note here that there are specific healthcare resources, towards which young individuals such as Roy may be encouraged to access and to get benefits from. There have been an integrated system of healthcare resources available for youth such as Roy and these resources operate in the form of local government owned clinical centres (Tane, Hefler & Thomas, 2018). The basic objective of developing PHCs such as the one mentioned above is to enhance the accessibility of the rural remote indigenous population to these healthcare resources.
These clinical centres are primarily responsible for ca
ying out clinical and social support and coordination with the community people. In case that is deemed necessary. There are basic support systems provided to the patients of healthcare issues emerging from habits smoking and they include outpatient department, formation of multidisciplinary teams as well as the positive social interventions of nursing professionals within the communities (Titmuss, Davis, Brown & Maple‐Brown, 2019).
Additionally, PHCs contain possible interventions to alleviate the lifestyle changes for indigenous youth such as Roy. These possibilities include development of the programs that raise awareness in people about the way they can ca
