My home state is Texas and I live in Houston. My county is Ha
is County, which stands at the overall 196th Health Ranking according to the County Health Rankings website (County Health Rankings). The relationship between this health ranking and the socio economic factors affecting the health of the people in this area is that in terms of these factors, Houston stands at 146th rank, in comparison to its 196th health rank.
As identified from the website, 96% of people in Houston are high-school graduate, while 95% are top performers in US and Texas has 89% high-school graduate. Similarly, 79% have deaths due to injury, while 55% people have such deaths in Texas (County Health Rankings). Other socioeconomic factors that regulate the level of health and wellbeing the Houston residents are studying until college, unemployment, disparity in income, child poverty,
oken household imposing negative impact on the children, violent crime, middle-class family background, racism, lack of casualty management system as well as association with people with negative intentions.
As supported by Nuru-Jeter et al., the abovementioned factors impact health because they deteriorate the living conditions of people, as a result of which, they do not get the basic amenities that are important to live a healthy life. For example, due to unemployment, they might not get all the proper meals of the day, consequently, suffering from malnutrition. Therefore, these call for nursing implications so that the deprived people could be supported and restored to the normality of life.
The Community/Public Health Nurses (C/PHN) could help the poor children with social services such as outsourcing foods, clean drinking water, clothes and medicines. As suggested by Turner et al., they could a
