        Introduction
Dementia includes progressive and severe collection of
ain disorder with symptoms such as confusion, memory loss, difficulty in routine tasks and mood changes that arise from dysfunction of
ain (Dementia Australia, 2019). According to Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (2018), there are more than 40,000 people in Australia living with dementia; out of those 55% are women. The old age people living in residential care facilities comprise more than 50% of the dementia population. Though the illness is known to affect more the old age adults, it is not considered as a normal part of the ageing process. Dementia has no prevalence on the basis of geographical locations, the disease occurs due to certain risk factors such as mid life obesity, physical inactivity, low education levels, smoking, diabetes mellitus, midlife hypertension, and depression (Ashby, Burns, Shaw & Anstey, 2017).
The essay elaborates the concept of Dementia in Australia with the structure involving: 1. Types of Healthcare Delivery; 2. Types of Healthcare delivery in dementia; 3. Social determinants of Health; and 4. Cultural Safety and Person centered care associated with Dementia.

2.1 TYPES OF HEALTH CARE DELIVERY
The healthcare delivery system of Australia involves multifaceted network of settings ad services including several private and public care providers, funding agencies, regulatory mechanisms and participants. The planning, governance, regulation and coordination of Australian care services is conducted by the sharing between the non government and government sectors (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2016). The main types of healthcare delivery services in Australia includes a three tiered system with Primary Care Services and Community Services, Secondary care, Tertiary care and Long term continuing services.
The Primary care services are the initial point of contact for the patients where the clinicians may be a dentist, physicians, nursing professional, pharmacist or other healthcare worker (Health Issues Center, 2019). The primary care is offered in general settings and also involves health promotion, prevention and education. On the basis of initial diagnosis the patients are refe
ed to secondary or tertiary levels of care.
The secondary care includes the care provided by medical specialists such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychiatrists in clinics or specialized facilities or hospitals.
The tertiary care services are provided by highly specialized care specialists for the inpatients admitted in the hospitals and involve complex surgical procedures or advanced medical assistance. These services also include long term care and rehabilitation of patients.
The services are offered in wide range of fields like public health, emergency healthcare services, preventive care, palliative care, hospital based treatments in private and public clinics, and rehabilitation. These healthcare delivery services are also accompanied by other supportive agencies like advocacy and consumer groups helping in development of policies, statistical and research bodies helping in disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and providing training to the nursing professionals. The community organizations also contribute in facilitating education and training programs, research, delivery and funding of effective healthcare services.
The government helps the healthcare system in three tiers: at the national level, at state and te
itory level and at local level. The federal government frames policies, issues fund for pharmaceuticals and community services, funds research, medicare, while regulating the medical facilities (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2016). State governments manage the private and public hospitals, offer preventive facilities, handle health complaints, ad offers primary care services. The local government offers environmental services like food safety monitoring, waste disposal, water supply and fluoridation.
2.2 TYPES OF HEALTH CARE DELIVERY IN DEMENTIA
The healthcare delivery in Dementia involves an initial consultation with Primary Care Physicians, where the screening, imaging tests, blood sample testing, physical examination and early diagnosis is conducted and after identifying the issues, as related to dementia, the patient is refe
ed to specialists.
The main healthcare specialists in dementia providing secondary care involve Geriatricians, Neurologists, Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Neuropsychologist and Geriatric Care Manager (Ellison, 2018). The Geriatricians assess and manage the cognitive issues in older adults. Neurologists assess...
