GENERAL OVERVIEW :
As history states, the relation between Iran and the U.S were not in good terms since 1980. During WW2, Iran was invaded by both the US allies but relation between them continued to be positive even after the war ended. In later years, the relation between the two countries worsened when the then government, Mohammad Mosaddegh, was overthrown by the CIA aided by MI6 and worsened even more after the Iranian Revolution and Iran’s growing influence in the Middle East.  In 2015 the U.S. was successful in negotiating the nuclear deal which intended to dismantle Iran's nuclear capabilities. The Trump led government withdrew the deal and re-imposed the sanctions in 2018. Later, the supreme leader of Iran  banned all direct talks with the U.S. Tensions rose between Iran them and escalated in May 2019, with the U.S. deploying more military in  Persian Gulf after receiving  reports threathening  U.S.  for  Hormuz oil shipping. Tensions reached a new level when the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shot down a U.S.  surveillance drone, claiming that the drone violated Iranian airspace .
