1. An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse 
During my three year nursing course, I have gained good awareness about the Codes of Ethics, National Competency Standards for RNs, Legislations governing nursing practice, duty of care, Scope of Practice and Code of Professional Conduct. I will practice to demonstrate all these standards and codes in my nursing care. The clinical placements provided me good opportunity to acquire the standards of reflective practice. As an RN, I will practice within my own scope of practice and would seek clarifications when the decisions are not clear. I will undertake only the decisions which are within my scope of competence. I won’t proceed with any action in which I am not confident, without seeking appropriate supervision. I understand that each hospital has different procedures and policies which may not be familiar to me. So, I would familiarize myself with all the organisational policies and procedures of the hospitals before joining them. 
1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
While working as AIN at different wards of Aged care Facilities, I developed strong communication, customer service skills and empathy. It helped me in assisting the old age patients with their regular routines like toileting, dressing, showering, medication, mobility and so on. Exposure to ISBAR and IDBAR formats helped me communicate with multidisciplinary care team and families of different patients. At many instances, I had to work with elderly patients who were unable to process information in a normal way or who were hearing impaired. I had to speak slowly and loudly to these patients, while repeating my statements until they understand or hear me. I learned to adhere to one topic at a time for avoiding information overload or confusion. I learned a lot of patience.
