Performance Evaluation
We live in most dynamic times of the century where there are multiple disruptions taking place every second in the market. Indeed, change is the only constant that businesses thrive today believes and only prospective to advance in future. In order for organisation to survive and thrive, developing talent and building strong work teams are essential. In order to emulate a corporate environment, our class was also segregated in the team of individuals and as the time progressed, the team went through five stages of development. Each stage had its own set of challenges and opportunities to offer. We were able to apply the concept of Team Development, Leadership and Effective Team management in real life. When I look back and reflect how the team have evolved over the different phases, I think the journey was amazing and we are able to form a cohesive team of individuals who were aligned towards a common objective. I think Leadership plays a critical role in developing great high performing Teams. At each stage of team development whether it is forming, norming or adjourning behaviour of the leader and his/her vision is pivotal for the success.
How has your team evolved through the four phases of team development on Teamwork?
I would like to explain my Team's journey applying Tuckman's five stages of Team Development
· Forming - We were a team of five people who came together to achieve a common goal to deliver high quality projects and group assignments. Initially very few people knew each other and had less familiarity with each other.
· Storming - This was one of the difficult times for the team as there were a lot of disagreements in the team regarding how we should approach the project. Honestly, we all were struggling to collective respond and work together. Nevertheless, in this stage team members got the opportunities to know each other better and get familiar with the ways of working
· Norming - In this stage, I realised that team unconsciously started to form working relationship with others and grew closer. This enabled the progress to deliver the Team's objective. There were more of team meetings and member knew what were the strength and weakness of each other.
· Performing - In this stage, strong relationships were developed, there were defined team processes in picture and...
