Introduction  
Strategic planning plays an indispensible role in weighing the current and future position 
of an organization to make efficient plans for its growth. Strategy can be evaluated in various 
ways, in simple terms it can be defined as the roadmap prepared by the management to reach 
its goal. Strategies and planning are strongly correlated functions but its success largely 
depends on its implementation and monitoring. 
Discussion 
With fast developments and changes in the healthcare industry, strategizing each step 
plays crucial role. According to Feuer & Chaharbaghi (1995) planning can be regarded as 
strategizing of organizational steps such as what to do, how to do, when to do etc. However, 
taking a periodic look on organizational objective is necessary to evaluation its conformation 
with industry and global objectives as organizational objectives gets change with market 
scenario such as social, political, economic, industry, customer etc.  
Strategy 
According to Harvard business review, strategy can be defined as rational process of 
deliberate calculations and analysis for achieving desired outcome. It can be defined from 
four various perspectives that are rational, fatalistic, relativist and pragmatic. It aims at 
attaining sustainable competitive advantage in the market, by performing similar activities in 
different ways ( Harvard Business Review 2011).  
Strategic analyses to make strategic choices 
Earlier in health sector organizational focus was more tend towards the planning in 
context to national requirement but now focus is shifting towards global demand. An 
effective organizational objective will aim at increasing the flexibility within the system to
