Introduction  
Health system is turning to be complex day by day with changing environmental factors. 
Health system plays crucial role in maintaining life expectancy in the world; despite of such 
huge developments in health care system still wide gap persists (World Health Organisation, 
2000). In simple words, health system can be defined as arrangement of people and resources 
to deliver high quality health care facilities to targeted population and protect them from 
potential health problems. The objective of this paper is to select a particular health system 
and evaluate its growth till date by critically analyzing its features and important elements.  
Discussion  
There are different types of health system being followed in the global market, their success 
also varies; however any health system does not succeed in a day, there is a long history of 
rise, fall and different strategic actions behind its development. In this essay we will analyze 
the growth and success of national health system.  
National Health system  
On the advice given in Beveridge Report the national health system was formed in 1943 in 
United Kingdom, it is a publicly funded system of health care management with prime 
service delivered by private sector. Before World War 2 health care system was managed by 
regional, municipal and other national organization but changes occurred in the system due to 
increasing inequality and inequity in the health care service deliveries (Wendt, 2009).
