Report 1: Describing a Past Experience
My experience as a Leade
Healthcare is comprised of various professional groups, specialities and departments where a nonlinear and intricate relationship is maintained. I have worked as a care manager I have communicated with the patients who were admitted to avail their needs in best way and consulted with the professionals of healthcare to decide the type of service should provide. According to Nica (2015), the leadership can be refer as the individual behaviour where it shows the activities for the group as a shared project goal. I involved the professionals and care providers to provide the best service to the patient.
Aligning Own Example of Leadership with Trait Theory
The role of the leadership is to influence the group members for the activities and as a leader, they should be aware of the needs of the people he works with. As per the view of Aarons et al. (2015), there are many controversial theories that are followed by many leaders, which include Great Man Theory where the leader is in born a leader and Contingency Theory where they are specific to task group as well as the position of the leader is important. However, I am an avid follower of the Trait Theory.
There are other theories also such as Transformational Theory, Post Contingency Theory, Contemporary Theory and Path Goal Theory, though I do believe in Trait or Personality Theory the most, following which, as a leader, I have taken care of the facilities for the patients and the individual care providers who are taking care for patients directly. As mentioned by Top, Akdere and Tarcan (2015), the leader should be intelligent, knowledgeable, self-confident, and should have supervisory ability, which will make the person distinguished from others. According to this theory, the leader should be involved to determine the important characteristics of the leaser that is built on the nature of previous successful as well as unsuccessful leaders.
These things are mandatory to be an effective leader. Trait Theory can be used to explain the scenario that nobody can be in born a leader and this can clearly negate the Great Man Theory, which is quite popular for a person who believes in born talent to be a leader. Though it is very true that a good leadership cannot be arisen simply in the hereditary way, as the leadership skills are to be adapted and cannot be inherited. According to Naveh, Katz‐Navon and Stern (2015), the personality model describes the personality can be explained, based on dimension, conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness and extraversion; demographic skills, personality and abilities are the predictors of the leadership of an individual. Hence, my personality was framed from these perspectives only.
Conclusion
In conclusion, as a leader of a healthcare, I have worked as a care manager and have directly...
