Introduction
The main mantra for developing society around the world is the mitigation of living diligently at the community level. Problems caused by loneliness takes a toll on human health vastly and this is one of the major concerns in the field of medicine. One can go from a bad health to a more deteriorating condition in a matter of days. People can suffer from more than one major health issues which can make them bed ridden for months and years (Ehsan et al, 2020; Barke, 2017). The theory of well-being has witnessed a lot of changes throughout time. Before, treatments revolved around the functioning of the body and how it becomes prone to diseases. As per research goes the two concepts are not completely different from each other, they indeed compliment one another as the well being of the community and public health sustainability remains unaltered. There are times when the affirmative approach deals with issues that are not related to the health causes. This in turn may have greater impact on the general status of people and living in a state of isolation is a part of it (Hwang et al, 2019; Sime & Collins, 2019).
To find the meaning of health in its truest form, Huber in 2011, went a long way to find the co
ect concept of it. Those practices still have great impact even today. The capability of a human being to abso
the effects of the problems and reorganize oneself alonh with preserving and restoring the integrity and identity of the person (Ehsan et al, 2020; Barke, 2017). Social connectivity is the primary determinant of a positive outcome and something that promotes resilience. A disrupt in human behavior can be caused if there is an absence of such. Given below is a community project proposal which states the need to resolve the state of loneliness of the people living in Handsworth in Birmingham region (Hwang et al, 2019; Sime & Collins, 2019). The main concern of this proposal is based on the diverse ethnic social atmosphere in the local region.
Background
Depression will not knock at your door before attacking you, it does not have a time to happen. It is a daunting issue for everyone. New community approaches have been proposed by JRF and JRHT to loneliness action research initiative. These approaches work on the loneliness action research initiative (Ehsan et al, 2020; Barke, 2017). A research has been conducted by Katy Hole on the rhetoric and actual issues involving loneliness. The whole procedure involves searching for international and national materials as well as meetings with local citizens and other community groups. There is not a single person who could deny that they did not experience loneliness even once in their lifetime. People must look out for their relatives and neighborhood and make everyone feel accompanied so that they do not feel alone and unwanted.
This project is a
ief highlight of the already established expertise and experience and a wonderful framework on which to create people driven action research program. At the heart of this program will be the awareness and experience of lonely people. The project will aim at alleviating the conditions of loneliness within the Handsworth Community people by identifying their sources of having psychological and clinical issues due to it. The project will aim at youth and elderly community both that suffer from loneliness on account of family, social or psychological issues. The project will also aim at reducing the number of causes and sources that loneliness often results in. Loneliness, thus, leads to the various healthcare based issues and it requires an integrated approach of community based projects—like the cu
ent one—as well as the identification of the areas of improvement that might lead to address the concern of loneliness from
oad social perspective.
Community Profile
The Handsworth neighborhood (encapsulating the Lozells and East Handsworth Ward) is located just over 2 kilometers north of Birmingham City Centre. It is one of the most heavily populated areas of Birmingham. Many generations of the same family share the same house (nearly 1 in 5 households compared to less than 1 in 10 in England) which makes it look overcrowded (Birmingham City Council, 2019). Housing is primarily in older te
aces (46.9 percent of all property compared to 29 percent for Birmingham and 25 percent for England) with small backyards and opening straight on to the pavement at the front (Birmingham City Council, 2019). The neighborhood has a long history of migration, in which old migrants outnumber new migrants from places such as Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Cari
ean and Africa, and with recent immigration contributing to the neighborhood’s diversity. GP Registration data shows that in the period 2007-2010 citizens from 170 different countries migrated to Handsworth. It gives the impression that more than one ethnic community is living in the town and most importantly, it is related to the Asian communities (Birmingham City Council, 2019).
There are multiple languages spoken in the area with English as the first language. The other spoken languages are Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. Here, the noteworthy aspect is that, locals speak in their native languages while conversing with one another and when they have to establish communications other than the community people, they use English as their first language (ONS, 2016). There are multiple dimensions of this deprivation; low income profiles of people as well as unemployment are some of the things that people encounter on routine bases. The overall household income, for example, is below 10,000 pounds which is way too less that the average household income of England and Wales, 35,000 pounds per annum (ONS, 2016). The ratio of employment...
