Module 4 focuses on conducting parametric and nonparametric inferential statistical tests: t-tests, chi-square analyses. Using the website link http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/mult_pkg/whatstat/, please take some time to answer the following questions:

Identify the types of variables you would need to conduct a Chi-square (last name begins with A-H), one-sample t-test (last name begins with I-P) and paired t-test (last name begins with Q-Z. Be sure to explain the number of dependent and independent variables, and the types of dependent variables necessary for the statistical analysis. Furthermore, provide a health related example (or using a peer-reviewed article that used a chi-square test) to explain your answer.

(1) Identify the types of variables you would need to conduct a Chi-square (last name
egins with A-H),
Chi square test is used to test for independence between two variables
measured on nominal scale of measurement. Variables can be categorical in
nature. For example I can check independence between Gender and Favorite
Color by chi square.
(2) one-sample t-test (last name begins with I-P)
For application of one sample t test the variable should be continuous.
That is it should be measured on interval or ratio scale of measurement.
For example, Temperature is a measurement of interval scale. Zero
degrees Celsius doesn’t mean there is...
