• Describe what programs and services it offers.
• Detail any quality assurance programs in place at this facility including whether or not this facility adheres to any private quality programs identified in Chapter 11 such as Quality First, AAHSA, AHCA, Alliance, AHQA, NQF, CARF, JCAHO, CCAC, CHAP, etc.
• Does the Administration on Aging or the Aging Network impact the quality and availability of services at this facility?
• Critique what is offered based on the demographics of the area and key components of the continuum that are and are not included in that system.

Quality in Healthcare Systems 
Maintaining quality is one of the most primary needs on the part of any healthcare 
organization may it be publicly owned or privately owned. Both governmental and non-
governmental (private) healthcare organizations like hospitals and nursing homes, and several 
other forms of healthcare organizations, must upheld the need of sustaining quality in patient 
care prior to emphasizing the need of any other attributes. It is in order to ascertain how different 
quality aspects can actually pave the way for the improvement of a privately owned healthcare 
system that this papers is going to focus on one of the most reputed hospitals situated in Texas, 
the Austin Lakes Hospital.  
Located in Austin, Texas, Austin Lakes Hospital offers a wide range of psychiatric 
services for adults starting from the age of 18 years and up (Austin Lakes Hospital, 2017). To 
ensure quality and patient privacy, the hospital has earned the reputation of maintaining 
confidentiality of patient records and interactions, and till date it has been able to sustain its 
reputation as a healthcare institution providing a caring environment that nurtures and promotes 
crucial aspects like crisis resolution, problem solving skills, and personal growth through the 
application of social skills (Austin Lakes Hospital, 2017). The hospital has also earned fame in 
its approach of handling and managing diversity both within the workforce and within the patient 
population. It is clinical excellence and exceptional mental health services, the two primary 
attributes of quality care, that have helped the hospital to make its unique name within the 
industry drawing the attention of good number of patients.
