Introduction

After World War II, main focus of European region was to build its international relationship;
eside this, other objectives were to achieve economic independence and availability of food
in the region. To achieve these goals several treaties and policies were signed. Government
aimed to achieve a single European market to gain economic stability. The main objective of
this paper is to analyze the scenario within European welfare state, the type of welfare
egimens within the region and its impact on health care sector.

European Union welfare state

European Union was formed with the objective of
ining peace and success by pooling of
esources together (h2g2.com, 2002). The welfare state model of European Union is not fixed
yet; there are around twenty seven participating states that follow different welfare and social
policies with some similarity and differences. Different types of social integration that are
eing followed in different states are the American approach, which focuses on comparing
the development within EU region with USA; the social Europe approach that focuses on
maintaining the minimal income maintenance with member states and the filtered approach
that concentrates on segregating poor into deserving and undeserving segments and their
welfare policies also varies accordingly (Baldock, et al., 2012).
To adopt a social approach in European regions expect UK all other states have implemented
social charter that aims at improving the living and working conditions of the workers
