Hitler and the Nazi soldiers, in order to eliminate the Jews from Europe, had killed 6,000,000 men, ladies, and kids for no other explanation than that they were Jewish. This wrongdoing is of such significant extents that it can never be completely comprehended. As opined by Bauer, the Americans did not voice their opinions or views against such a big crime and opted to stay silent. They also supported the president who was indifferent about the pathetic conditions that the Jews residing in Europe had to endure. In the year of 1939, United States did not permit a ship named St. Louis that was carrying the Jewish refugees to land in its port after Cuba had refused their admission. The Americans should have welcomed the Jewish refugees and should and should have offered help to them. When the Americans had elected Roosevelt as their President with the majority of the votes, the American society was undergoing huge economic crisis. The Great Depression had caused havoc in the economies as the stock market crashed heavily. The rates of unemployment had drastically shot up as people had to lose their jobs because of the economic crisis.
