General Points
• Program 11 can be completed using content from the following chapters:
o Python @ ACC - Welcome! through File I/O & Modules
o Textbook - Chapters 6 – 11 with emphasis on 9, 10, and 11
• Create a file named program11.py.
• Do not repeat identical examples from the course material.

Requirements (these are the requirements to identify by number):

All of the operations below (e.g. file, directory, clipboard) are to be performed
programmatically.

1. Output a header in the console: “This is Program11 - ”
2. Print “This program demonstrates reading, writing, and organizing files.”
3. Output the cu
ent working directory of the program.
4. Ask the user to enter the directory where they would like files to be stored,
create that directory, and store files used below in that directory.
5. Write the following three lines to file_one.txt (without bullet points):
• Line 1 from file_one wrong_text
• Line 2 from file_ one wrong_text
• Line 3 from file_ one wrong_text
6. Read and display the contents of file_one.txt.
7. Replace the substring ‘file_one wrong_text’ in data read from file_one.txt
with ‘file_two co
ect_text’ and write the co
ected lines to file_two.txt.

8. Ask the user to type the following lines (without bullet points) into a text
editor and copy the lines to the clipboard (using Ctrl-c):
• Line 1 from the clipboard
• Line 2 from the clipboard
• Line 3 from the clipboard
9. Display the contents of the clipboard which should contain the three lines
from Requirement 8.
10. Read the contents of file_two.txt and read the contents of the clipboard.
11. Append the contents of the clipboard onto the contents of file_two.txt
line-by-line to produce the following:
• Line 1 from file_two co
ect_text followed by Line 1 from the clipboard
• Line 2 from file_two co
ect_text followed by Line 2 from the clipboard
• Line 3 from file_two co
ect_text followed by Line 2 from the clipboard
12. While performing Requirement 11, write the lines out to file_three.txt.
13. Display the contents of the file_three.txt.
14. Ask the user for a new directory name. Create that directory and
programmatically copy the files created earlier in the program to the new
directory. Programmatically compress the files in the new directory.
15. Print a statement explaining your experiences with Program11. Make this
authentic (minimum of 2-3 sentences).
