This is triggered when he drinks cold beverages or when he breathes cold air. This cold sensitivity does not last very long once the stimulus is removed. The tooth does not hurt when he bites. After a clinical examination and evaluation of a radiograph, the dentist informs the patient that there is a moderate-to-deep cavity in the tooth. The dentist decides to remove the cavity in order to better evaluate the patient’s treatment and restorative options.
