Obesity is a menace to humankind and with its evil spread millions of lives are being 
sacrificed in an untimely manner. Considering the surge in the rate of obesity related deaths, 
it has now become imperative for the governments of all the nations to equip the health care 
system of their countries with tools and policies effective for combating obesity.  
In the United States governments at all the levels have rendered painstaking efforts to 
address the issue of spread of obesity. Government funding, in collaboration with private 
sectors, has been one of the sources of strength that have made the health care delivery 
system of the country capable of fighting the menace of obesity. In this respect it must be 
noted that, “Federal funding for chronic disease prevention reached an all-time high of $1.16 
billion in FY 2012, but then experienced a 17 percent cut in FY 2013. The FY 2014 Omnibus
