In this Learnscape, the Student is the Manager of the Health Information Management Department for a hospital. Several times in recent weeks, the Electronic Health Records Implementation Manager, Brianne Carlson, has mentioned that the backlog of work was growing and that she needed more help. She has never been more specific than simply saying that “more help” was needed, and her complaints seemed to be no more than passing remarks offered without preparation or forethought. Since the Student has been under pressure from a number of directions including threats of impending budget cuts the Student has not felt compelled to add the scanning backlog to their list of active worries. Our Learnscape opens with the Student’s mentor introducing the role and situation. Then, out of nowhere, the Electronic Health Records Implementation Manager, Brianne Carlson, drops her bomb. “I need one more full-time electronic medical records scanner and I need her now. If something isn’t done about it by Friday, you can find yourself a new implementation manager.” In the subsequent scenes, the Student will discuss with their mentor possible solutions and potential advantages and disadvantages of each. They will discuss the trap the student is now in and explain why it is a trap. The Student will then be allowed to see, by trial and error, the affects of pursuing different solutions, including calling the supervisor’s bluff, requiring a documented request, and even giving in to the ultimatum. By the end, the Student will realize that they need to address the general condition that caused the specific problem in the first case. Characters: 1. Kailee Pierson: HR Manager 2. Unit 7: Discussion Project Management Introduction For this discussion question, students will again be referring to the LearnScape for Health Care Human Resources, Episode 1:  Overview: More Help Needed Now!(Scenario); however, the focus of this unit’s discussion IS NOT on presenting recommendations for how best to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget. Instead, the students will be developing an abridged plan, utilizing the processes associated with project management, to effect the necessary changes so as to ensure the IT project is successfully completed. In other words, the students will be utilizing their previously developed recommendations (taking into consideration the peer and instructor criticisms) to construct a project implementation plan that will ultimately result in the achievement of the business’ goal to have 100% of the medical documents imaged into the new EHR system.  Below is a simple graphical representation of this process. Below is a brief narrative recap of the scenario: “Serving as the director of a hospital’s health information department, the student guides a team that is struggling with a backlog of work and budgetary pressure.” Directions Initial Posting Students are to refer back to the previously completed LearnScape for Health Care Human Resources: Episode 1: Overview: More Help Needed Now! (Scenario). If necessary, students should go back through the scenario prior to completing this discussion question and peer responses. Based on the information provided in the scenario; outside review of the relevant literature; and the recommendations they constructed during Unit 5's initial discussion response, of course, taking into consideration the constructive feedback from their peers and instructor, the students will develop a project implementation plan. In other words, the students will need to present a high level plan that addressed the processes associated with project management (see ULO #1) in a manner that...

Project implementation plan
The implementation plan of the cu
ent project under healthcare human resources would require
using the resources of the organization in efficient manner leading to creation of additional
value. It would be helpful in adding to goodwill of the organization which would increase the
capacity of the employees and other participants leading to successful implementation of health
plans and strategies. The prime goal of healthcare management in organization is to increase the
surplus of the consumers which in other words also called as the patients seeking services from
healthcare projects and operational needs. First step in generating business plan to be
implemented in the given scenario is to assess the needs of the business projects and identifying
the potential capabilities for making changes in the budget and other similar needs (The Ten
Steps of Action Planning , 2014).
Providing better financial sources would reduce the costing part of installing latest machineries,
thus generating innovative methods in treatment procedures of medical provisions. It would
increase the fixed costs of the entire budget but in the long run, there will be fall down in the
variable costs of service provision because new equipment would be able to produce efficient
outcomes with indivisibility of resources. Next step would be to make changes in the...
