12. Guidelines for the Preparation and Submission of Written Assessments
 
Written assessments should be word-processed in Arial or Cali
i Light font size 12. There should be double-spacing, and each page should be numbered.
There should be a title page identifying the programme name, module title, assessment title, your student number, your marking tutor and the date of submission.
You should include a word-count at the end of the assessment (excluding references, figures, tables and appendices).
Where a word limit is specified, the following penalty systems applies:
Up to 10% over the specified word length = no penalty
10 – 20% over the specified indicative word length = 5 marks subtracted (but if the assessment would normally gain a pass mark, then the final mark to be no lower than the pass mark for the assessment).
More than 20% over the indicative word length = if the assessment would normally gain a pass mark or more, then the final mark will be capped at the pass mark for the assessment.

It helps for developing qualified and skilled professionals in a productive way. The underlying essay will argue the importance of ethics and integrity in academic work. The purpose of the essay is to establish the need for integrity in academic work.
Section One
In this section, we are analysing the concepts of ethics and integrity in academic work. The academic professionals have to provide training and development programs for improving the quality of academic work submitted by the students. Most of the US-based universities are providing one-month training for the first-year students for understanding the importance of ethics and integrity in academic work (Nixon et al 2021,p.10075).
As per the report of the
Australian Higher Education Standards Framework (TEQSA 2015), academic integrity means, moral code for academia.
Don McCabe (2016) founding father of academic integrity stated that academic professionals have to ensure that the students are following standard ethical practices and policies while submitting their academic work. Academic integrity helps for avoiding unethical practices such as cheating and it also helps for maintaining academic standards in academic works and practices. Five fundamental values related to academic integrity are courage, honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility (Onu et al 2021,p.13), the students have to follow the academic standards and they have to identify the ways for attaining their academic goals. As per the report of the

Respecting Others
It is the duty and responsibility of the students to respect his or her friends and the faculty members. Respecting self can be called an important part of academic integrity. We heard lots of the news and facts that students are not giving proper respect and consideration to others. While analysing the academic standards presented by the founding father of academic integrity Don McCabe (2016) teachers have to understand the students and they have to set boundaries for the students for getting respect (Kim et al 2021,p.10). Faculty members play a significant role in improving the academic integrity of the students.
