Plagiarism has become prevalent in all fields but it is most widely used in academic
field especially by students. Plagiarism is a serious crime and all the measures should be
taken to avoid this in academic institutions. The degrees and courses are designed to produce
students with originality and real education but the plagiarism can turn out to be an obstacle.
Plagiarism is not only a crime but threat to the human society. The use of materials of other
scholars is permissible if they are given due credit for the same and citation is the obvious
choice. There are many citation styles but APA guidelines are widely used ones (Alexander,
K., 2007).

Plagiarism is considered to be a serious crime. It can be explained as implying or
claiming authorship over another individual's creative or written work (whole or partially),
