1.0 Introduction
In today’s retail and services markets, it has become advantageous for businesses to hold a strong online position. It has been shown that consumers have a greater tendency to
owse and shop for products using a company’s online store, over the traditional
ick and mortar experience of the past. To evolve and meet these cu
ent demands, Paradise Roses have submitted requests for a website re-design, including the integration of an online store for their rose sales business in Melbourne.
The purpose of the cu
ent report is to propose the website overhaul and optimisation project for Paradise Roses. The first sections of the report are focussed on providing the background, motivation and reasoning behind the projects necessity. The remaining sections give a detailed implementation plan for the project, including deliverables and scope, constraints, assumptions, scheduling, HR management, costings and quality control.
2.0 Organisation Background
Formed in 2003, JTB Studios have grown to be a frontrunner for the design of websites and digital marketing in Australia by utilising a user centred design strategy. As a company, we are large enough to drive successful campaigns for national
ands, however still small enough to provide close collaboration and stimulate growth for emerging or transforming

3.0 Project Selection
The cu
ent report is proposing a website overhaul, redesign and optimisation for Paradise Roses. This is not the only project however, that Paradise Roses has considered in attempting to grow their business. At cu
ent, there are many aspects of Paradise Roses that need upgrade, include their shop front/warehouse, stock management systems, delivery management and customer communication methods. As a market leader in digital marketing and web design, JTB Studios experience shows that companies with a strong digital footprint have a greater ability to implement future projects.
Paradise Rose’s cu
ent majority of sales is via phone orders, not in person visits to their shop/garden. As such, the cu
ent project has been selected to move this system to an online ordering version, through a well-designed user centred website and online store. Furthermore, other needs of Paradise Roses, such as stock management, delivery management and customer communication can all be integrated into the website design. While they may be out of scope for the cu
ent project, by implementing the initial website overhaul and optimisation Paradise Roses will be able to add them more easily later. Finally, JTB Studio’s vision for Paradise Roses is that they will complete much of their orders and sales online, meaning there is little need for an improved shopfront. With the predicted improved customer base and revenues, it is forecasted that Paradise Roses will instead be able to upgrade the garden infrastructure to meet the demands the cu
ent project aims to deliver.
4.0 Project Justification

ahim XXXXXXXXXXTo meet the strategic direction of Paradise Roses, which includes the incorporation of improved customer management, delivery and stock management systems as described in the previous section of this report, there needs to be an interface for staff and customers to interact with, in which these systems can be integrated into. As such, the overhaul and development of Paradise Roses webpage provides the opportunity to create this base, as well as offering additional functionality to improve the businesses revenue streams. This idea, which is also demonstrated in Figure, justifies the project as it has become a dependency for the implementation of the desired future projects and thus integral to the strategic plan for Paradise Roses.

In addition, it has been shown that traditional capital based project selection methods such as calculating an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) or Net Present Value (NPV), Return of Investment (ROI) and Payback Period (PP) cannot be effectively applied to ICT projects since these can be hard to gauge (Ballantine & Stray XXXXXXXXXXMilis and Mercken XXXXXXXXXXsuggest that by keeping ICT based projects smaller, there is an increased ability to accurately estimate resource requirements, returns and timeframes are easier to control. The cu
ent proposal believes that by focussing only scoping for the design and development of the website and online store, it is keeping the project small enough that the capital based justification methods are valid. Using the costing detailed in later sections of this report, Table 1 shows the NPV, ROI and PP for the overhaul of Paradise Roses website. Please note, full calculations can be found in the Appendix.

With the proposed being integral to company strategy and have very positive monetary investment return estimations, we at JTB Studio believe it to be justified for implementation. As such, a full implementation plan has been developed and will be detailed in preceding sections.
