Critical writing:

No matter what you are asked to do you must always be critical. What does this mean?

Descriptive versus Critical writing features
8
Photo by Annie Spratt on Unsplash
Descriptive writing gives information about the context.
It provides background information, sets the scene, lists details, gives definitions.
It answers questions such as what, where, who, when.
It does not establish relationships.
Example:
“Dental caries is a chronic disease affecting approximately 45 per cent of New Zealand children with an increasing number requiring tertiary treatment under a general anaesthetic” (Johnstone, 2006, as cited in Shearman, 2011, p. 15).
Critical writing is more complex and goes beyond description. It is evaluative.
It questions something and looks at different sides.
It considers implications and makes recommendations.
It considers how and why as well as what if and what next type questions.
Example
“Future nursing recommendations
include increased oral health assessments, improving access to primary health services, using multiple promotion initiatives ...” (Shearman, 2011, pp. 21-22).

Remember that it is also important
to write in an appropriate style.
Academic style means your writing is:
formal
objective
cautious.
And this is reflected by vocabulary choice but also by the sentence structures you use.

CRPD Article 7- Children with disabilities
A Review
CRPD Article 7- Children with disabilities
Introduction
The conventions of human rights by United Nations are the parameters of equality to be delivered to all in society.
These are guided by the principle of alleviation of social norms to
ing in disabled people to the mainstream society.
The following is the overview of Juan’s history in the light of Article 7 of CRPD
To develop a society completely, a holistic approach is required to ensure that all community members are equally dominant and this is the first goal of UN conventions of human rights. The focus of these conventions is to touch the main issues existing in society and discrimination of the disabled is one of them.
2
UN Convention and Article 7
Under the Article 7 of CRPD by UN, it is mentioned that the liability to give equality to disabled children will be on state parties.
In the first sub-section of the article, the emphasis is given on the achievement of the fundamental human rights to disabled children.
In the first sub section, the state parties will take up the responsibility to give equal enjoyment and opportunities to live normal life to children by creating that environment which they want from life. The state parties may include but are not limited to, the government agencies and nonprofit organizations as well.
3
CRPD Article 7 Contd.
In the same sub section, there are some important “terms” which need analysis.
It focuses not only on fundamental human rights, but also on fundamental freedom which seems compromised in the case of disabled children.
In the context of the above terms, it can be noted that when it comes to the ground of practical reality, children seem to have been put to the process of achieving their fundamental human rights because state parties are encouraged to give them desirable atmosphere. However, they do not get that desired “freedom” which is the association of the disabled children with the normal ones. It seems missing from the mainframe norms of the article and that should be the focus of the state parties as well.
4
CRPD Article 7 Contd.
In the second sub section of the article, the orientation of the disabled children is one of the major components.
It states that the “best interests” of children should be considered on priority.
The question of best interests can be determined by the choices of the disabled children.
It is implied by this sub section that every child has his or her own fancies from the early childhood period and disability is something that
eaks them on psychological level. With the help of the CRPD articles, state parties will make sure that they examine the process of how these fancies and personal choices of the every disabled child are well met.
5
CRPD Article Contd.
In the third and final sub section of the article, there are some important segments which allow individual freedom and authority to express the views freely.
In the first part of the third sub section, children are given the freedom of choice to give their opinion over the course of...
