A rigid container (think about what that means) is filled with a perfect gas (R = 200J/(kg·K)).  The volume of the container is 0.8m3. The pressure reading on a gage attached to the container reads 108kPa and the temperature is 69ºC. Find the gage pressure of the gas in the container after the temperature is increased to 193ºC. Atmospheric pressure is 1bar. ?Give your answer with one-decimal place accuracy in kPa. Don't include units with your answer.???Answer??? Question 2 ?  XXXXXXXXXXlbm of air/fuel mixture burns in a piston/cylinder device, releasing a total of 0.61Btu of heat.  This occurs during an isometric process where the starting pressure is 71-psia and the starting temperature is 811ºR. Find the final pressure using an air-standard analysis of this process. ?Give your answer with one-decimal place accuracy in psia. Don't include units with the answer.???Answer??? Question 3 ?  A piston/cylinder device compresses 23.2 grams of hydrogen adiabatically from a starting temperature of 39ºC and starting pressure of 109kPa absolute to a final pressure of 2,922kPa absolute.  Determine the work for this process. Be sure to use the correct sign conventions with your answer. ?Give your answer in kJ with 2-decimal place accuracy and don't include units with your answer.???Answer??? 5 points   Question 4 ?  Using the information provided with the previous problem, determine the heat added/rejected during the described process. ?Give your answer in kJ with one-decimal place accuracy but don't include units with your answer.???Answer??? Question 5 ?  Determine the change in pressure for an adiabatic process using Argon that has an initial volume of 105-in3 and an initial pressure of 19-psia and a final volume of 19.1-in3. ?Give your answer with one-decimal place accuracy in psia and don't include units with your answer

SOLUTIONS
1. Answer
Initial gauge pressure = 108 K Pa
Atmospheric pressure = 1 bar = 100 K Pa
Hence,
Initial absolute pressure P1 = (108+100) K Pa = 208 K Pa
T1= 69ºC = 342 K
T2=193ºC = 466 K
Volume remains constant
P2 = (T2/ T1) x P1
P2 = (466/ 342) x 208 = 283.41 K Pa
Final absolute pressure P2 = 283.41 K Pa
Gauge pressure when temperature is increased to 193 ºC = 283.41-100 = 183.41 K Pa
Gauge pressure when temperature is increased to 193 ºC in K Pa = 183.41
2. Answer -
Given data
Mass of air fuel mixture = 0.0017 lbm
Released heat = 0.61 BTU
Process isometric or we can say that constant volume process
So for constant volume, we have
CV = 0.171 Btu/ (lbm ·R)
Q= m CV (T2-T1) = 0.0017 x 0.171 X (T2-T1) = 0.0002907 x...
