demonstrate that the student has thoroughly researched their topic. Students should use 
examples of business practice from the scholarly journals papers, conferences, books and 
professional magazines to support their arguments 
The literature review would be on an organisation (company) that is using accounting 
software packages in Australia. The research would cover:  
 
PART 1 
1. The current organizational structure 
2. What operational problems (e.g., inefficiency, errors) do you think the organisation 
could experience because of this structure? 
3. What is the most likely system acquisition method— commercial software, custom 
software, or ERP? 
4. Describes and prepare a system flowchart of the sales procedures for the chosen 
organisation (company)  
5. Identify any control problems in the system and what sorts of fraud are possible in 
this system? 
PART 2 
1. Development and adoption of the accounting software packages,  
2. The current market size,  
3. Identify the leaders in the market and what gives them the competitive advantage, 
4. Identify the current gaps or challenges encountered by users or customers of 
accounting software/packages and make relevant suggestions or recommendations.

Introduction:  
InterAust Foods is a veteran player in the Australian domain. The company operates for supplying raw 
material for number of companies belonging to the Food and Beverage sector. Mainly the company 
supplies food and food products to the food and beverage makers of Australia and several other 
countries on the globe. Mainly the company takes in different types of food products as raw material. 
Every year company purchases as high as 10 to 15 thousands of raw material from food suppliers. The 
company is well known for its quality and business values. It is there in the business in Australia for more 
than thirty years and is well known for its business excellence. As of today, the company is supplying 
about 300 different products for major players of packaged foods and beverages around the world 
(InterAustFoods). 
 
Organization Structure: 
InterAust Foods is a big Private limited company and the company is headquartered in Victoria, 
Australia. The company has several branches throughout the world to operate its connections and to sell 
the products to different customer in the world. As of today the company’s organizational structure and 
operational procedures are well defined. Since the company is into these operations since thirty years, 
the company has exhaustive list of the customers in several parts of the world. Also the company is very 
much interested in streamlining all its operations at the best quality and best service to the vendors and 
suppliers. Inorder to materialize these operational objectives there is extensive streamlining of all its 
operations under different divisions like sales and marketing, financial management, Logistics etc. There 
is a CEO at present reporting to the board of directors and CEO in turn will be helped by number of 
different divisional heads each expertised and taking the lead of the particular division. There are 
number of supervisors and support staff in each of the division. These assistant managers and the 
supervisors will be supported by Field staff and contractual labor. As a whole the organization is quite 
robust in its organizational structure and is doing all its operations quite efficiently. The following chart 
depicts the overview of the organizational structure of the InterAust Foods Pty Ltd. 
Each of the line managers will be supported by line supervisors and the line staff. Apart from these staff 
there are also different casual and contractual staff working for diverse functional requirements. 
Depending on the seasonal operational requirements and the necessities the number of personnel 
recruited and their usage will be changed.
