Hi Luzviminda, you are so right about how difficult it is to "convince people to participate" in research, for reasons of time and trust. I get that a lot when working with patients. Some don't want to answer because they don't have time and don't think the survey is important. I usually put in a little extra effort to get them not just to answer the questions, but also to put some thought into it. I sometimes get answers like "Oh, everything was perfect and everyone was wonderful" and I usually follow by asking them if there isn't one little tiny thing they would like to be better (bigger TV, better cushions, etc.). Trust is much more difficult. I know that the US government horribly abused African Americans by performing STD tests on them in the mid 20th century, and to this day there persists a health distrust of the government.
