The intended audience for these standards will include the health care professionals along with the nurses. The other audiences are the carer, consumer, families, communities, government and other regulatory authorities, NGOs as well as private organizations.
  
b. The underlying philosophy of the standards 
The underlying philosophy states that the standards guide the scope of practice and measures how care should be provided. It also includes the practice outcome, rationale and the necessary skills and attributes that are essential for giving standard nursing care (ACMHN, 2013). This philosophy also lays emphasis upon the fact that the nursing standards must use compassionate, ethical, cultural sensitive and respectful approach.
