Question 4 B
Question
What information is important when collecting information about a child?
Answe
The information that relates to the development and improvement of the child's development prospects. The information about the family and the environment in which the child lives is also important while collecting certain information about the child. It is also important to collect information about the child's needs, interests and cultural practices that will be effective to plan and implement positive, meaningful and inclusive experiences and environments which are relevant to the children within the service. Observing the children in their usual play patterns and daily interaction can also help to understand their individual strengths, interests and the needs as they develop. Collecting information from secondary sources, including the families, colleagues and specialists is another way to find out vital information about the children.
Question 4 D
Question
While gathering information about children why is it important to include any changes to their family circumstances.
Answe
When collecting information about a child it is important to report the child safety concerns and must ensure that their concerns meet the legislative threshold for the reporting. Changes in the family should be considered because this has an inherent impact on the child and does have an influence on their capabilities of reducing the information. The relevant information that is obtained must be analysed on the basis of the changes that took place in the child's life and the change in the family circumstances is an effective factor that is going to have a tremendous influence on shaping the child's personality. Family is the first educator of the child and they have a rich source of information about the child and therefore any change in the family will have an effective influence on the living aspects of the children.
Question 4 E
Question
Strength based approach is a key aspect to children’s development and learning. Discuss this statement.
Answe
This is an important approach because it is the key aspect for the child development and learning. It also helps in the proper development of being cu
iculum which must focus on the inherent development of the child. Strength based approach represents a Paradigm shift the movement away from the deficit-based approach which can lead to a long list of things considered to be wrong with the child's learning and development of the things that the child cannot do. The deficit-based model fails to provide sufficient information about the strengths and strategies to support a child's learning and development. In relation to the above factor it is effective to consider the limitations that are associated with the deficit based approach, a growing body of research that has effectively given evidence that has shown support for the strength based approach that encourages educating us to understand the children and the children's learning is dynamic, complex and holistic. This is also focused on understanding that the children demonstrate their learning in different ways and start with the present and what is absent along with the other written aspects about what works for the child. The strength-based approach consists of questioning strategies to identify what works for the child and how it works so that those strategies can be continued and developed to match the abilities of the child. This is about assisting the people who are with each who you can look like in the future.
