My workplace took an environmental audit for understanding and identifying the service design being delivered to patients for supporting and well-being of the aged people with psychological and behavioral symptoms of the disease dementia (BPSD). The exiting services have been analyzed very vividly in this assessment and I was also helped for developing my practice and understanding for caring the aged people suffering with BPSD. This project task of designing service is divided in two parts while part A speaks regarding the present service model at the place of work where practicing care of the aged people having BPSD is done and part B speaks regarding the ideas as well as design service chosen for the enhancement of the lives of aged people having BPSD.
Option 1 has been selected by me an environment audit as part of analyzing critically in part A in the service design. My present workplace was audited by using the dementia friendly community environment assessment tool (DFC-EAT). My manager gave me the consent before the audit of the environmental workplace was undertaken by me. My knowledge regarding the significance of the environment to care the aged people with BPSD has been developed by this tool. The dementia friendly community environmental assessment tool (DFC-EAT) provides help in understanding and identifying the support given by the building as well as caring to the people who lives with psychological and behavioral symptoms regarding dementia (Livingston et al. 2017). There are eight divisions of principal of such tool which includes safety, familiarity, enhancement of stimulation and reduction of stimulation, engagement and movement, variety of spaces, size, and seeing and being seen. Every principles have the audit for approaching the entrance, space for entry, way to destination, and after destination the way from it to the workplace and the score were 0 to 2 in which 0 is not agreed, 1 is agreed but partially and 2 includes agree. Score 47-62 was got by the agreement partially of band from my workplace I am working. The quality to build that the people uses having dementia is justified by these eight principles. Considering the safety, to be capable to watch, variety and size of space, familiarity, involvement and movement activities, area decreasing stimulation and the enhancement of stimulation for the people with BSPD for the su
ounding of the friendly community of dementia is necessary (Jung 2015). To audit on my workplace, maximum number of principles got agreed. But, improvement is still needed by stimulus reduction and enhancement in some fields according to the audit of the place where I work.
The symptom of behavior and psychology of dementia includes symptoms of personality, behavioral, disorder contenting thought and mood. Dementia is a word that is overall for the disease and situated described by the declination in language, memory, skills of solving problems and different other thoughts that has an impact on the ability of a person in performing day-to-day activities. One example is loss of memory. Alzheimer is mainly caused by dementia. Dementias are mostly progressive, that means symptoms begin very slowly and started to get worsen. The cause of dementia is the damage to the cells of the
ain. The capability of the cells of the
ain for communication with each other is interfered by this damage. When the normal communication is not done by the
ain than it affects its ability to think, behave and feel. The
ain consists of many different areas and each part has its own functions like movement, memory and judgment. The normal function of that part of the
ain was not ca
ied out when cells of a specific area get damaged. Various kinds of dementia have the association with specific kinds of damage of
ain cells in specific areas of
ain. Such as, in the disease of Alzheimer great levels of few proteins externally and internally the cells of the
ain hardens it for cells for staying healthy and communicating with everyone. The region of the
ain known as hippocampus is the place to lean and memorize in the
ain, and the cells of this area starts to damage first quite often. This is the reason of losing memory which the oldest symptoms seen in Alzheimer’s (Bang et al. 2015).
The main causes of the Vascular disease is the hardening the arteries (atherosclerosis) because the artery lining get thickened from the deposits of fats or plaques (atheroma). There is acute manifestation of vascular disease when perfusion is comprised by acute drama, emboli, or thrombi[footnoteRef:2]. Thrombosis is generally of an athermanous in nature and its occurance is in lower extremities in a more frequent manner as compared to the upper extremities. There are many factors predisposing patients for thrombosis. Such factors involves hypotension, bypass grafts, aortic dissection, aneurysms, low cardiac output, sepsis and na
