In vertical or hierarchical organisational structures, business has a pyramidal overview of top-down structure, with the President of the government agency on the top, middle areas of managers and bottom section of regular employees. As a president or the head, one needs to make all the critical decisions like sales, marketing and customer service which is later communicated to front-level employees. On the other hand, horizontal organisational structure is relatively flat with few managers and perhaps more authority to be granted to ranks-and-file employees. I strongly believe that it’s been too long that government agencies and departments are organised in vertical fashion giving rise to free-loaders, incompetence in workforce as well as politics and red-tapes.
