Case Study 1:
Norton computer Ltd has office in Tauranga which is having LAN configuration. Cu
ently, there are 50 employees working in the company. The company is going to open another
anch in Hamilton and want to connect the new office with the old one in Taranga. Business of Hamilton office is also selling the computers. Hamilton
anch office requirements are in house application server maintaining sales and purchase, stock inventory, employee’s attendance & payroll systems. A separate web server is also required for hosting
anch web pages and online sales and purchase. Branch office will have three departments namely administration, marketing, sales & purchase departments. They will share server applications but all of them will have their own resources such as printers, computers, WIFI laptops etc. On WAN side,
anch office must be connected to the head office for internet access, checking available stocks and so on. Firewall systems be employed at both offices to protect the company data from internet intruders.
The Information Services Department director asks you to develop a report and address the following issues:
1. Design internal LAN network diagram for the Hamilton office by considering the above mentioned parameters.
2. Design a WAN network diagram by connecting the two offices. Consider the above mentioned parameters to connect the two offices.
3. Critically analyze the architecture of LAN and WAN based on topology, network type, speed and coverage. Also assess the network standard used by LAN and WAN.

Judy works as a network administrator for a company which deals in sales and retails and has numerous stores around the city. Being a network administrator, she is responsible for maintaining the server, and sharing of information via cloud. The company is using various firewalls and other spam detection software to manage the security and privacy of the business. However, one day Judy receives a message from his boss that the staff of the store is not able to access their accounts and emails are sending from their account automatically.
