HDFS 201- LIFESPAN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Critical Thinking Exercise #1 - Theories

NAEYC Standards 1b and Supportive Skill 3

Directions:

Below are 12 statements which reflect ideas from various theories of human development. After reading Chapter 1 of your text, identify which theorist and theory best matches the viewpoint in each statement. Demonstrate your understanding of the theory by writing a DETAILED paragraph to explain your choice of theory for each statement. Be sure to include the proponent ofeach theory (person best known for the theory), if applicable.

As with all written work, your responses must be in your own words. This requires you to understand what you have read and paraphrase the concepts about the theories. You may not copy definitions or other information directly from the textbook or any other sources (such as the Internet, etc.); this would be plagiarism. Be sure to accurately cite references to any sources you use to complete this assignment. Any paper that is not original will earn a score of ZERO.

I do not want examples but a definition so I know you understand each theory.
