Goals refer to an idea regarding the future or a result that is desired to be achieved by an individual or an organization. Goals need to be SMART in order to be effective. SMART is the acronym for Specific, Measurable, Articulate, Relative and Timely. Based on this acronym, the following 3 goals have been selected for Stevens District Hospital.
Financial or Economic Goal
Specific Goal- Increase market share by 5%
The selected economic goal for the company is to increase its market share by 5% in the next five financial years. The mission of the company is to provide high quality and comprehensive care to its patients. This can only be done through increasing profits and revenue through increasing the share of the market that has gone down in the last five years years. In order to employ more doctors and include better services, it is important that the hospital increases its revenue and that will only be possible through increasing its market share. That is why it is extremely important for Stevens District Hospital to increase its share in the market that it has forfeited to its competition. A measure of 5% is still less when compared to the 13% that it has lost in the last five years, however, it is an achievable task which the company can accomplish if it improves its services and endorses better technology (Jung, 2019).
In order to measure the progress towards this goal, monthly assessment and surveys shall be used to check how the hospital is doing in terms of number of patients and in comparison to other hospitals.
